Varios músicos entre los que se encuentran nombres tan importantes como los de Michael Stipe, Thom Yorke, Dinosaur Jr, Frank Black o Mercury Rev, se han unido en un proyecto que tiene como fin recaudar fondos para las hijas del músico Mark Mulcahy, líder en la década de los ochenta de la banda Miracle Legion.
El disco verá la luz el próximo día 29 de septiembre en el sello Shout! Factory bajo el nombre de Ciao My Shining Star: The Songs of Mark Mulcahy.

Esta vez jugamos con ventaja, porque la calidad contrastada a nivel mundial desde hace casi 10 años por una banda como Piano Magic, nos da la suficiente confianza como para poder asegurar que lo que viviremos el próximo 20 de marzo en Oviedo, será memorable.
El colectivo afincado en Londres y capitaneado por el infatigable Glen Jonson llega a España para presentar en directo su última entrega, el fantástico The Troubled Sleep of Piano Magic (Green Ufos, 03), que contiene piezas tan extraordinarias como la turbadora “St. Marie” o los arrebatadores crescendos de “Speed the road, rush the lights”, aunque a buen seguro que tampoco se olvidarán de grandes clásicos del grupo, como “No Closure” o “You and John are birds”, ambos incluidos en su lp del año 2000, Artists’ rifles (Rocket Girl, 00), el que les supuso su confirmación a nivel mundial como los mejores sucesores del sonido oscuro de bandas como The Cure o Joy División combinado con las guitarras etéreas de The Durruti Column y las armonías de toda la familia del sello 4AD, con Cocteau Twins y Dead Can Dance a la cabeza.
Su participación en los festivales más importantes de toda Europa, por supuesto incluidos los españoles FIB, Tanned Tin y BAM, y giras por todo el mundo han consolidado a Piano Magic como una de las bandas con un directo más intenso y emotivo, y su inminente gira por toda España no servirá para otra cosa que corroborar su excelente estado de forma y la simpatía y el cariño que el público español profesa a una banda que con un trabajo constante y coherente como pocos, ha logrado convertirse en un referente de la escena musical británica desde hace más de un lustro.

El batería de Weezer publicará su primer álbum con su formación paralela

El grupo publicará el próximo 4 de marzo en Estados Unidos su álbum de debut a pesar de que la formación se creó en 1998. El título del disco será Land, Sea, Air, que ha sido producido por Chad Bamford quien ha trabajado como ingeniero de sonido de Weezer.
The Special Godness tienen previsto probar sus nuevos temas en una actuación el próximo 13 de diciembre en Seattle, y pretender realizar una gira por Estados Unidos en marzo si antes logran fichar un bajo permanente para la formación.
