Billy Corgan anuncia nuevo disco en solitario

Billy Corgan publicará nuevo disco a finales de mes. Que no cunda el pánico, que The Smashing Pumpkins siguen en activo, pero su líder continúa con su carrera en solitario en paralelo.

Hace dos años por estas fechas lanzaba Ogilala, continuación de The Future Embrace (2005), un disco de carácter acústico producido por Rick Rubin.

Ahora regresa con Cotillions, un disco doble de 17 canciones que llegará el 22 de noviembre a través de su propio sello Martha’s Music. y que al igual que su anterior obra, Ogilala, se lanzará bajo su nombre completo, William Patrick Corgan.

Al compartir la noticia a través de Instagram, Corgan dijo que su próximo álbum sale «de su corazón». También habló sobre cómo la tecnología ha influido en la forma en que un artista puede llegar a sus fans hoy en día. «Hay una razón por la que confío en vosotros, las personas que me apoyáis día a día, para decidir si mis esfuerzos son dignos o no. Vivimos en un mundo diferente, donde un artista puede hablarte directamente sin el filtro de los medios de comunicación que moldean tu corazón y tus opiniones antes de que incluso tengas la oportunidad de decidir si esta música te habla. Y este es un álbum que sale desde mi corazón». 

Agregando que el próximo álbum de The Smashing Pumpkins, sucesor de Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol 1/LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun «saldrá lo suficientemente pronto».
