Como no podía ser de otra forma, claro son The Smashing Pumpkins, los norteamericanos celebran los 25 años de su dupla Machina/The Machines of God y Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music con una reedición que incluirá nada menos que 80 canciones.
Será el próximo 22 de agosto cuando podamos disfrutar de esta versión recientemente remezclada y remasterizada, que contiene los 48 temas de Machina, además de 32 pistas adicionales de demos, tomas descartadas y presentaciones en directo. Será la primera vez que ambos álbumes de Machina se unen. Hay varias ediciones del mismo.
Como comenta Billy Corgan: «Nos ha llevado unos 25 años lanzar Machina tal como la banda pensó. Machina fue concebida como nuestro último canto, y fue un verdadero trabajo de amor hacerlo realidad, a pesar de lo destrozados que estábamos en aquel entonces. Pero con la banda a punto de embarcarse en una gira mundial en 2025, además de mi gira en solitario con The Machines of God , este álbum es una celebración y un testimonio de voluntad, ya que las canciones por sí solas nos han ayudado a James, Jimmy y a mí a mantener la fe».
El pasado verano The Smashing Pumpkins publicaban Aghori Mhori Mei un disco en el que regresaban al sonido de su época Gish. Siamese Dream y Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Este verano recorrerán Europa y Asia celebrando los 25 años de Machina.
